Terms of Use

Printbyme Inc. · Customer Policies

Terms & Conditions

Please review these terms before placing an order. They explain artwork responsibilities, proof approval, production, payments, and delivery.

These terms apply to orders placed with Printbyme Inc. (“Printbyme,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please contact us before ordering if you have questions about your project or these policies.

01 Agreement & Scope

By placing an order and accepting these terms at checkout or through a written order agreement, you agree to the terms applicable to that order.

Product specifications, approved proofs, and accepted written quotes form part of your order. A separately signed project agreement controls where it expressly differs from these general terms.

Custom sign fabrication, electrical work, installation, permits, engineering, site requirements, deposits, and warranties are governed by the applicable written project agreement. These website terms do not replace a required construction or installation contract.

02 Pricing & Payment

Website prices are based on the product options selected. Taxes, shipping, design work, file preparation, and other services may be additional unless expressly included.

Online print orders are charged in full when placed. Custom projects follow the payment schedule stated in the accepted quote or project agreement.

Changes to quantity, dimensions, materials, finishing, artwork, or scope may require a revised price and schedule. Additional charges will be communicated for approval before the additional work is performed.

Promotion codes must be applied before order submission and are subject to their stated restrictions. Unless expressly included in the offer, coupons do not apply to custom quotes or mailing services.

Applicable sales tax will be charged unless valid exemption documentation is provided and accepted before billing.

03 Artwork Requirements

Customers are responsible for supplying print-ready artwork that meets the specifications of the ordered product, including size, bleed, safe area, page count, resolution, color mode, and finishing requirements.

  • Use CMYK for standard full-color paper printing unless the product specifications state otherwise.
  • Use images at approximately 300 PPI at final print size for standard paper products. Large-format products may have different requirements.
  • Embed fonts or convert text to outlines, and include or embed linked graphics.
  • Remove visible template guides before exporting your final print file.
  • Verify spelling, content, orientation, page order, folds, cut lines, and finished dimensions.

Enlarging low-resolution artwork may result in blurry, distorted, or pixelated printing. RGB-to-CMYK conversion may change colors. We are not responsible for defects caused by unsuitable customer files where the product is produced consistently with those files and the approved specifications.

File checks do not include comprehensive proofreading or design correction unless those services are expressly included in your order.

04 Proofs & Approval

When a proof is provided, the customer must review and approve it before production begins. Check all text, images, dimensions, placement, page order, and finishing details.

Approval authorizes Printbyme to produce the order according to the approved artwork and specifications. Customer-approved spelling, layout, or content errors are not production defects.

If you authorize production without a proof, you accept responsibility for reviewing the submitted artwork before providing that authorization.

File replacements or revisions after a proof has been prepared may require additional charges and a revised production schedule. Any additional charges will be communicated before the revised work proceeds.

Approval does not excuse production errors. If the finished product materially differs from the approved artwork or agreed specifications, contact us so we can investigate.

05 Color & Production

Screen proofs are intended to show layout, text, image proportions, and placement. They are not accurate guarantees of printed color, ink density, material texture, or finish.

Color may vary between screens, printing processes, materials, coatings, and production runs. Uncoated paper, UV coating, and lamination can affect the appearance of the finished piece.

Exact color matching is not included unless expressly agreed in writing. If color is critical, discuss a physical proof or matching requirements before approving production.

Normal manufacturing tolerances may apply to trimming, folding, registration, and finishing. Thin borders close to a cut edge may appear uneven. Product-specific tolerances take priority where stated.

Some products may be produced through qualified production partners. Not all products are printed at our El Monte, California facility.

06 Design Services & Files

Design services cover the deliverables stated in the accepted quote. Editable source files, working files, licensed fonts, and third-party assets are not included unless expressly agreed in writing.

Ownership and permitted use of custom design deliverables follow the written design agreement. Third-party fonts, images, and other licensed assets remain subject to their respective license terms.

Customers retain ownership of their original submitted artwork. By submitting it, you authorize us and our production partners to use it as needed to prepare, produce, and fulfill your order.

Keep copies of all artwork and approved proofs. We do not guarantee permanent storage, future availability, or recovery of uploaded or working files.

We will obtain your permission before using customer-submitted artwork in our advertising or public portfolio.

07 Production Turnaround

Production turnaround begins after we receive print-ready artwork, the required payment, and any required proof approval, subject to the cutoff time stated for the product or project.

Business days exclude weekends and holidays. Shipping transit time is additional to production time.

Advertised turnaround times are estimates unless a specific deadline is expressly guaranteed in writing. File problems, revisions, delayed approvals, equipment issues, material availability, weather, and other disruptions may affect completion.

Tell us about a firm event or installation deadline before ordering. Rush availability and any related guarantee must be confirmed for your specific order.

08 Changes & Cancellation

Submit change or cancellation requests promptly in writing. A request is not confirmed until Printbyme acknowledges whether the order can be changed or stopped.

Before production begins, any cancellation refund may be reduced by completed design or preparation work and nonrecoverable costs, as disclosed in your order agreement and permitted by law.

Once printing, fabrication, or other custom production has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible. If work can be stopped, any refund will reflect the work completed and costs already incurred, subject to applicable law.

Completed design services are not refundable solely because the customer decides not to proceed with printing. This does not limit remedies for defective or undelivered services.

09 Defects, Returns & Refunds

Inspect your order promptly after delivery or pickup. If you believe there is a production defect, contact us with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs.

Keep the affected products and packaging while we review the claim. We may request samples or arrange a return for inspection. Please do not return products without instructions.

If we confirm a production defect or a material departure from the approved specifications, we will provide an appropriate correction, reprint, replacement, or refund, consistent with the circumstances and applicable law.

Because products are custom made, change-of-mind returns are not accepted after production. Errors in customer-approved artwork, unsuitable customer files, and normal disclosed production variations do not qualify as production defects.

Reprints require production time. Expedited production or shipping is subject to availability and written confirmation.

Nothing in this policy limits any return, refund, warranty, or other remedy required by law.

10 Shipping, Delivery & Pickup

Shipping

Shipping estimates are based on the selected service and carrier information. Carrier delays, weather, customs processing, and circumstances outside our control may affect delivery.

Customers must provide an accurate delivery address. Address corrections, redelivery, or reshipping caused by incorrect customer information may require additional charges.

Items may ship separately when they are produced on different schedules or at different locations. Combined shipping is not guaranteed.

Lost or Damaged Packages

Contact us promptly if a shipment is missing or damaged. Keep the packaging and provide photographs when available so we can investigate with the carrier. Replacement or refund options will be evaluated based on the circumstances and applicable law.

Local Pickup

Wait for our ready-for-pickup notification before visiting. Contact us if you need someone else to collect your order or require extended storage.

Orders should be collected within 15 days of the ready-for-pickup notice. If an order remains unclaimed, we will attempt to contact you before arranging further storage or disposal, as permitted by applicable law.

Freight and International Delivery

If freight delivery is arranged, tell us whether a loading dock, forklift, liftgate, or other special delivery service is required. Additional charges may apply.

If we accept an international order, the quote will identify any included duties or taxes. Unless expressly included, destination customs duties, taxes, and import charges are the customer’s responsibility.

11 Mailing Services

When mailing services are included in an accepted quote, customers are responsible for approving the artwork, mailing list, quantities, and instructions.

Printing and mailing schedules depend on timely receipt of approved files, mailing data, and payment. Postal processing and delivery are separate from our production schedule.

Postage already used to enter mail into the postal system is generally not recoverable. Any cancellation, correction, storage, or refund arrangement will be evaluated against the work completed and the applicable service agreement.

12 Customer Content & Copyright

You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and authorized use of the content you submit. You represent that you own or have the necessary permission to reproduce submitted logos, photographs, text, designs, trademarks, and other materials.

You must not submit unlawful content, sexual content involving minors, threats, defamatory material, or content that infringes another party’s rights. Printbyme may decline offensive, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate material, subject to applicable law.

Acceptance or printing of an order does not confirm that the submitted content is lawful or properly licensed. We may request documentation of your authority to reproduce it.

We may retain or disclose order information and content where required by law or reasonably necessary to respond to legal claims, enforce an agreement, or protect legal rights.

Website content owned by Printbyme Inc. or its licensors is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorized copying, redistribution, or republication is prohibited except as permitted by law or written permission.

13 Product Use

Select products and materials suitable for your intended environment and use. Follow the product specifications and any supplied care or installation instructions.

Unless a product is expressly identified as suitable for the application, do not assume that stickers, labels, inks, or adhesives are approved for direct food contact, food packaging, freezing conditions, or other regulated uses.

Electrical signage, mounting, installation, engineering, and permit requirements must be addressed in the applicable project scope. Product purchase alone does not include these services unless stated in writing.

14 Website & Account Use

Keep your account credentials secure and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. Use the website only for lawful purposes and do not attempt to interfere with its operation or access protected areas without authorization.

The website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to every feature.

If a pricing, description, or technical error affects an order, we will contact you to discuss a correction or cancellation and refund of any unearned payment.

Website availability disclaimers do not replace express commitments made in an accepted order or limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

15 Liability & Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, Printbyme Inc. and its officers, employees, and representatives are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from an order or use of the website, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from an affected order is limited to the amount paid for that order, except where a written agreement or applicable law provides otherwise.

These limitations do not exclude responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, violations of law, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not limit nonwaivable consumer rights or remedies.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Printbyme Inc. and its representatives harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable legal expenses caused by your unlawful or infringing submitted content, unauthorized use of the website, or material breach of these terms.

This obligation does not extend to claims caused by Printbyme’s own misconduct or other conduct for which responsibility cannot lawfully be transferred.

16 Governing Law & Policy Updates

These terms are governed by California law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to the customer or transaction.

Where legally permitted, disputes will be heard in a court of competent jurisdiction in Los Angeles County, California. This does not restrict any mandatory right to bring a claim in another forum.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

We may update these terms for future orders. Updates do not retroactively change an accepted order without agreement or a legal requirement.

For questions about these terms or your order, use the Contact Us option on our website.
